USING SAM2007
1. Click the Sam2007 link on the home page of this course or go to http://sam2007.course.com
2. Read “How to Log In to Sam 2007” in upper left corner of SAM2007 home page for full details of how to log into SAM.
3. Computer Musts:
a. You must have at least 512MS RAM on your computer – 1 GB is better.
b. You should set your monitor resolution to 1024X768 or you will need to scroll to see all of the questions.
c. You must use Internet Explorer 6, 7 or 8 for your browser others are not supported.
d. Your browser must be set to allow pop-up from the sam2007 site.
e. You MUST have Adobe Acrobat 8 or 9 on your computer.
4. The first time you use SAM you will have to do the following:
a. Click new user button on the right side of the SAM home page.
b. You will be asked for an institution key. Kilgore College key is V7278912. Key in the institution key. Click submit. Kilgore College should appear. Click OK. (if not try again)
c. Fall 2009 – I will give you the key code. You will be prompted to enter your unique SAM2007 3.0 key code. This code is found inside the tear strip of your SAM 2007 packaging. If you purchased your book at the Kilgore College book store this was packaged with your book. If not, you may purchase the key at the Kilgore College book store.
d. Complete your user profile. (You should use the same user name and password that you use for our web course for ease of remembering. Don’t worry about creating an alias or ID#--these are not required, and I will not use them. Your e-mail address is important. SAM2007 will use this address to send you your password should you forget it. This is also the purpose of the secret question.
e. Verify that all your information is correct and click SAVE, then after checking if it is correct, click CONFIRM
f. Agree to the terms and conditions.
g. The last step in getting ready to use SAM 2007 is “Joining a Section.”
i. Click Sections at the left side of the screen
ii. Click Join a section on the right side of the screen
iii. Scroll until you find Grotefendt BCIS1305.W1.
iv. Click the right arrow to select our section
v. Click save
5. After joining a section, click SAM assignments to see assignment
6. You may reach a live Technical Support person at 1-800-648-7450, option 5, option 1, option 1.
