ETPA Range south of Kilgore
tuition: $75
Instructors: Tim Young and M. Knight
The East Texas Police Academy will offer a three-day, 24-hour Urban Rifle for Law Enforcement course at our range south of Kilgore. This is not a special weapons course; it is, instead, designed to enhance officer survival for both uniformed patrol and plain-clothes officers. This class stresses the use of the rifle in theory and mid-range use as is the case in most rifle confrontations. The course covers fundamentals for the safe use of the rifle in different patrol environments. Subjects covered include safety, stress operation, specialized drills and representations of short-range confrontations. It is designed to prepare the student both mentally and physically for confrontations.
We believe that this course will enhance your officers' ability to survive by taking appropriate action when faced with armed and dangerous adversaries.
