The East Texas Police Academy is proud to offer a four-day, 40-hour [note: classes are 10 hours per day] Law Enforcement Rifle Instructor Course at our range south of Kilgore.  This is not a special weapons course; it is, instead, designed to enhance officer survival for both uniformed patrol and plain-clothes officers.    This class stresses the use of the rifle in theory and mid-range use as is the case in most rifle confrontations. The course covers fundamentals for the safe use of the rifle in different patrol environments. Subjects covered include safety, stress operation, specialized drills and representations of short-range confrontations.  It is designed to prepare the student both mentally and physically for confrontations. Additionally, students will create, document, and present an acceptable course of fire and rifle-related lesson subject to instructor approval.

We believe that this course will enhance your officers' ability to survive by taking appropriate action when faced with armed and dangerous adversaries and will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively train their department's officers who carry rifles on duty.
