The Faculty and Staff of the East Texas Police Academy mourn the loss of one of our own. Senior Adjunct Instructor RON SHIELDS, who was the chief of police at Brownsboro PD, died earlier this week after a courageous battle with cancer. Chief Shields was a beloved member of our family and will be missed terribly. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 5th from 5p-7p in Athens at the Lehr Funeral Home on SH31. Burial will be with full law enforcement honors in the Shields Family Plot in Parsons, Kansas on Saturday, November 7th at 1p. God bless, Ron -- you will be missed.
