TCLEOSE rule 215.15, Enrollment Standards and Training Credit, now requires that in order to attend certain classes academies must maintain documentation of a student's status as either a licensed officer or a non-licensed individual who has the necessary credentials to qualify them to be licensed by the Commission.
If you're scheduled to attend a class which falls under this rule -- including the Basic County Corrections Course -- please do one of the following:
(1.) Licensed Officers (permanent or temporary jailers and peace officers): Send to the academy prior to the first day of class your Commission license (peace officer, jailer, or temporary jailer); AND a completed / notarized "Eligibility and Sponsorship" form, sections I and III.
(2.) Non-Licensed Individuals: Send to the academy prior to the first day of class a completed "Eligibility and Sponsorship" form (front and back); AND a completed "A-1" form (front and back).
