    The East Texas Police Academy will offer a three-day, 24-hour ADVANCED AUTO PISTOL course at our range south of Kilgore. Advanced Auto Pistol is a format geared for the officer needing the opportunity to update or upgrade acquired skills.  Students will receive an organized review of handgun fundamentals.  The class will cover injury firing, injury malfunction clearance, and ground fighting.

    We believe that this course will enhance your officers' ability to survive by taking appropriate action when faced with armed and dangerous adversaries.

Required equipment:

• Eye and ear protection;

• duty auto pistol  with quality rig for that weapon;

• at least two magazines (three would be preferred if at all possible);

• weapon cleaning kit for weapon used;

• flashlight;

• 600 rounds of duty ammunition; and

• Band Aid / medical tape (for sore spots).
