Follow these steps to locate, enroll and get started in our distance education courses:

  1. Locate your course.  A listing of distance education courses is below and in the printed schedule.  If you can’t find the course you need, Kilgore College participates in the Virtual College of Texas (see below).
  2. Check your skills & resources.  To determine your level of readiness for taking online courses, take the READI (Readiness for Education At a Distance Indicator) assessment.  You will receive a personalized report via email.

To set up your account, go to http://kilgore.readi.info

    Username is:  Kilgore

    Password is:  Student

Be sure to note any special lab software or other requirements as noted in the course list below.

  3. Enroll.  Follow the same procedures for enrolling in distance education courses as you do for traditional courses.
  4. “Attend” online orientation.  Learn how to get started by visiting the orientation web site.  Online orientation materials for the regular spring semester will be available beginning January 10th and should be accessed no later than the first week of class at http://kcfac.kilgore.edu/deorientation.html.  Most distance education classes officially start January 12th unless otherwise noted below.
  5. Contact us if you are having problems.  The last step in orientation is to send an email to your instructor.  If you are having problems that can’t be resolved with your instructor, contact the distance education help desk:
In person - at the Woodfin Center for Instructional Technology
                       Via email – techsupr@kilgore.edu
