General Information
The Kilgore College Fire Academy
Online is one of the first certified training
facilities in Texas to offer both onsite and online
training options. Our new online training offers
Fire Commission approved firefighter training to the
students that are not able to attend a traditional
twelve-week academy due to work, family, or personal
issues. The online academy allows the student to
study from their home and complete 336 hours of the
online requirements with course work that includes
presentations, video clips, practice tests, and online
assessment tests.
Upon successful completion of the
online coursework, students will attend a 14-day
onsite Skills Training Camp in which mastery of all
required skills will be practiced and demonstrated.
Upon successful completion of the onsite Skills
Training Camp, students will be eligible to sit for
the Texas Commission of Fire Protection Written and
Performance exams.
The Kilgore College Fire Academy
Online is an accredited institute of higher education
in which the student will receive letter grades,
certificates and transcripts. This training is
also approved by the Veteran's Administration.

Classes are limited as to number of
students allowed in each academy. All applicants must
